Casablanca day 4...with some Rabat, and Meknes, and then Chef-something...
Yesterday was a long day...we started in Casablanca at 8am, and headed for the second largest mosque known to man...did I mention it was pouring f'n rain, and colder than a well diggers knee? It was a bajillion square feet, and capable of housing 50,000 people inside for prayer! It was huge, and very elegant, but I've got a long story to tell, so I've got to move on...it's right on the ocean, so here is the crowd at that hour of the morning... So after many soakers, we got back on the bus and headed for Rabat...kind of cool port town of 2 million or so, and the capttal of Morocco... It was still threatening in Rabat... We decided to go into the big fort... This was weird...the minute you walked through the main gate, you were in Greece! ...and even stranger, this bright, shiny thing came out in the sky, and instead of being rainy, and cold, it was almost nice! Well, that didn't last long, and before we knew it we were off to some football (soccer) player, or Sultan, or somethings tomb... We went to another city the same day, but I will save that for tomorrow...yesterday was the first day of the Methamphetamine Tour!!!

ReplyDeleteDid you have to pay extra to have them wash everything before you started shooting?
Normally I’m done seeing any more churches or religious buildings in Europe, or anywhere in the world, for that matter, but this mosque looked very cool- inside & out - love the tiles out front - and, Cassandra & her pet! Keep the pics coming
