Pitumarca Aftermath...the Stones version!

Pitumarca was a wonderful experience.  We got to meet the weavers, and dyers...and the (sort of) leader is this fella...Timotee...
One of the nicest guys you will ever meet...a REAL gentleman!  I couldn't relate to him, but Dora really latched on to him...found out where he worked in Cusco, and decided to stalk him there.  He knew what was coming and tried to disguise himself...Dora was on him like a bad smell!
She bought a bunch of stuff to make him feel good...turns out the shawl she bought was woven by the only drunk weaver in Pitumarca...
That's Shirley...actually Sunshine Shirley...she's a bit of a mess when she drinks, but a hell of a weaver...she grabbed me a couple of times, but that's another story.  Did you know that they eat guinea pigs in Peru...ya, guinea pigs!
That little guy didn't know what was coming...
We were going to try it...this is what I was thinking...
The reality was a little different...
...and here is a picture of a church where they ate a lot of guinea pigs.
I'm not sure I can sleep tonight.................maybe another drink...................DORA!

Pitumarca...yes, THAT Pitumarca!

Pitumarca is a booming metropolis of maybe 1500 people, at about 75,000 ft.  Dora wanted to see some weaving, and dyeing stuff there, so off we went!  There are some ruins there...
Here we are at about 65,000 ft....just off to the left and below us is the space shuttle I believe.  Anyway, Dora ran up the mountain...I took the limo.
The town of Pitumarca is down in the valley, and on Saturday when we got there, there was some kind of special event to show the weaving and dyeing expertise of the locals.  Some of these old ladies walked 4 hours to participate!  I walked 4 hours once.  My friend Nan in California told me she hasn't walked 4 hours total in her whole life...but that's California, what do you expect?  My buddy Dave told me he walked 4 hours once, but didn't know where he was, so he fell asleep.  Anyway, here are some of the beautiful faces we saw...

Here is a young weaver...
...and here is some of the dyed alpaca drying while an apprentice weaves...
...and as exotic as it may seem, this is a scene you would see on any corner in Pitumarca...
Just so ya know, TLD is a big deal in Pitumarca...here is our hotel room!
Ya know what I resent...I'm not getting any taller, but my toenails get further away every year.  Any questions?
