Colombo...without the rumpled raincoat...

After Badulla, we hopped on the paint shaker to go back to Colombo, the capital city.  The train ride was 10.5 hours, with very limited photo ops...moving, shaking trains don't really make for a good shooting platform.  We go through tea plantations, and areas of intense jungle, with sporadic people living next to the train tracks...
...and here's a kid that lives along the tracks, bustin' a move for TLD...
...we were originally booked into a luxury coach...
...but decided we would travel with the regular folks...on the roof...
good views though...
...we got into Colombo around 7:30 pm, and tried to book our next train trip to Galle...sorry, can't do that...just have to show up on the day you want to travel and hope it's not sold out...#%*&^@!...don't they know who I am?  Anyway, went to our guesthouse with a tuktuk driver that must have been the great grandson of that famous Corrigan...got lost 4 different times!  Finally got to the guesthouse in time to miss dinner...had to go to a Food City to buy snacks...no restaurants nearby.
...nice place with good wifi.  The room had some issues, so we changed in the morning before going out to explore.  down to the waterfront...Sunday is the regular day off, and the waterfront is the favourite lovers lane!...
...and where I found this beauty...
...tomorrow we are off to Galle...sounds promising!

  2. You know "Wrong Way"? Didn't know you were that old! Tuktuk drivers taking advantage of you, train station agents screwing you around, what are you saving all of those silver bullets for?
